Come and join ASRA for some drinks at the Crown and Two Chairmen pub on the 19th July to help celebrate the start of judging of the Student Radio Awards.

Students across the country have been working hard over the last few weeks getting their entries together, and the judes are getting ready to listen to all of these entries over the summer. So come along and celebrate the start of the judging process for the 2012 Student Radio Awards.

The invite is open to current students and student radio alumni old & new, we’ll all be there so come and join us! If you’ve recently graduated from uni, you can find out more about ASRA and what we do.

Time: 6pm

Come and join ASRA at the Horse and Groom pub, Great Portland Street (http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/24/2411/Horse_and_Groom/Great_Portland_Street) on Tuesday 28th Feb at 6pm for our Spring quiz 2012.

We’re looking for teams of 4 people to show us they still remember something from their time at uni – to register your team for the night, follow out the below form to guarantee a table!

ASRA and The SRA are coming together to celebrate the closing date for entries of the Student Radio Awards 2011.

An event for student radio alumni, current students or even graduating students! If you’re interested in getting involved with ASRA, or just fancy coming along for a chat and some beer, come and join us!

Come and chat, mingle and have a drink or two. We’ll be at the The Crown and Sceptre from 5.30pm on Wednesday 20th July 2011 until late.

We’re Back

It’s been a while since we’ve done a lot with this website – and a while since we all got together. The radio world has changed a bit since then – but fortunately beer is mostly the same, and we all still mostly appreciate it.

We’ve not wasted the time we’ve been away – we’ve updated this website, and renewed our mailing lists. Not to mention embracing that whole social media-web 2.0ey-interactive-webbyness that is Facebook by linking our site up with it to help connect Alumni together.

It’s dead simple, just click “connect with facebook” over there >>> and facebook will work some magic to link you up to our site. Then tell us any universities or colleges you attended and we’ll not only add you to our mailing lists but tell you who’s about from your institution in the ASRA community.

Also while you’re here give us a like on our facebook page, and interact with us over there as well!

Oh yeh, and read on for details of a pub-based social in the next couple of weeks – afterall we couldn’t be back without assembling in a pub!

Alumni Social

Stuck in your office thinking longingly of the time when you were a student and could spend all night in a pub, and the following day sleeping all day?

ASRA is the Association of Student Radio Alumni. If you’ve ever been involved in student radio then you’re automatically a member.

We exist to try and keep student radio friends in touch with each other, whether you work in radio now or not, and to generally be kind to today’s generation of student radio.

ASRA will be having our next social in London at The Ship on New Cavendish Street on Thursday 26th May.

Please come along and remember the good old days of struggling to get your Student Radio Awards entries ready in time. Bring along some ex-student radio mates or just come along on your own – we’re all a friendly bunch!

We’ll be there from 5.30pm.
